Keeping Residents Safe
Thornapple Township provides fire-rescue and ambulance (advanced life support) transport response for residents of Thornapple Township through a voted fire millage and service fees. In addition, a portion of Irving Township contracts with Thornapple Township for fire-rescue services.
Township police services are provided by the Barry County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police.

Agriculture plays an important role in Thornapple Township and Barry County as a whole. The farming methods being adapted in the county are seen as being innovating and environmentally beneficial and sustainable. With this, we also enjoy many farming communities throughout our Township.
